Super Shout Showdown Patch Notes and Updates

This Super Shout Showdown updates page consolidates official Steam news into a readable changelog so you can see what already shipped in the demo and what Rezero Studio promised for Early Access (planned around August 6–7, 2026, with roughly 3–6 months of EA iteration).

Early Access status (August 2026)

Steam lists the full build as coming soon to Early Access. Developers say the core loop — casting modes, spell variety, and multiplayer modes — is already playable, while EA will add more spells, possible new modes, visuals, and performance work. Price is not currently planned to rise after leaving EA. Follow Release & Demo for wishlist timing and System Requirements before launch day.

Demo Hotfix #1 (voice & balance)

  • Speech recognition improved, especially for Chinese.
  • Most ultimate damages increased except Explosion.
  • Heal and Healing Tree healing reduced.
  • Lightning Dash immobilises but no longer interrupts casts.
  • Fixes: sky/map teleports, Energy Bomb double damage, aim obstruction, level UI after matches.

These numbers still shape the Tier List and Builds.

Steam Next Fest FFA preview

Sixteen-player Free-for-All opened with puzzles, events, secret spells, and the ability to take spells from defeated players. Patch notes later kept FFA available longer because of demand. Seven new spells arrived with categorization and Chinese ASR improvements. See Secret Spells and How to Play Free-for-All.

Lobby Grimoire & QoL

  • Open the Grimoire from the lobby without returning to the title screen.
  • Custom spell names shown to everyone.
  • UI language separated from spell-recognition language.
  • Push-to-Talk split for voice chat vs casting.
  • Mouse sensitivity defaults retuned.
  • Japanese prolonged sound mark no longer eats character budget like punctuation.
  • Kick-from-room persistence, VRoid logout, FFA mid-match spawn fixes, more FFA spellbook rewards, profile name menu.

Dark Pulse rework & late demo spells

Dark Pulse: higher cooldown, lower damage, stronger centre pull. New spells Destruction Beam and Ice Age landed near the end of major demo content. Studio messaging called that package likely the last big demo content drop before polish-for-launch.

Speech recognition models

Demo builds added a recognition test plus model choices such as Fast, Balanced, and High Accuracy. Pair with Mic Troubleshooting when latency or accuracy feels wrong.

Longer chants, scream recovery, team sizes

Community/developer posts also describe systems where longer incantations can empower spells, screaming after being hit can recover some health, and Team Battles gained chaotic 3v3 / 4v4 options. Practise those habits in Incantations, Shouting Mode, and Team Battle.

Roadmap teasers (post-playtest)

Public post-playtest notes mentioned interest in co-op PvE, FFA random events, more status effects (slow, stun, blind, burn, silence), a play-to-unlock economy with spell scrolls, player statistics, achievements/titles, and a fuller tutorial. Treat these as intent, not guaranteed day-one EA features, until Steam news confirms them.
