Duels are Super Shout Showdown distilled: two players, full Grimoires, and a single question — whose casts land first under pressure. This guide focuses on how to beat mirror matchups without relying on FFA loot luck.
Pre-duel prep
Lock a three-to-five spell kit from the Builds page. Warm up your primary engage phrase twenty times. Confirm spell PTT. If ASR feels laggy, swap to Typing for the set.
Neutral game
Hold space, fake shout starts, and punish players who commit Explosion-length chants in the open. Lightning Dash immobilise (without cast interrupt) still lets you rearrange footing — dash through after they whiff.
Advantage state
Once you land Dark Pulse pulls or Ice Age freezes, spend a buffed ultimate (non-Explosion preferred post-hotfix). Do not Heal panic immediately if you still own tempo; healing reductions make empty trees costly.
Disadvantage state
Dash out, break line of sight, and reset with a short Heal only if you will re-engage with a plan. Typing Mode can be safer while panicked breathing ruins ASR.
Mind games unique to voice
Opponents hear your chant fantasy. Mix silent Typing rounds with sudden shouts. Fake long words, then cast a short dash. Respect open-mic etiquette even while cooking.
