Super Shout Showdown Secret Spells & Excalibur
How Free-for-All hides power — puzzles, temporary legends, and stolen grimoires.
Secret spells are Super Shout Showdown’s FFA spice. Demo Next Fest notes promised map puzzles, interactions, events, and secret powerful spells, plus the ability to take spells from defeated players. Developer social posts specifically called out Excalibur as a temporary spell earned by solving the Excalibur sword puzzle.
Excalibur (temporary)
Treat Excalibur as a high-impact, limited-window pickup — not a permanent Grimoire staple. Learn the puzzle location on the FFA map, solve it under third-party pressure, then spend the spell before the window ends. Because it is temporary, practise a fallback kit from the Spell List so you are not helpless afterward.
Spell steal & dropped grimoires
FFA descriptions include picking up another player’s dropped grimoire on death to swap your current spells. Evaluate whether you can shout or type the stolen incantation before committing. Grimoire Guide explains permanent editing; steals are chaotic mid-match tools.
Spellbook rewards
Patches added more FFA spellbook rewards. Prioritise survival long enough to cash exploration — greed routes die to zone edges. Zone-kill credit within 15 seconds of your damage still applies; chip enemies near storm borders.
Win condition reminder
One FFA framing uses first to 10 kills with a shrinking zone. Secret hunting must not erase that scoreboard reality. Full tactics: How to Play Free-for-All and FFA Mode.
Status-effect secrets
Newer spells may carry slow, burn, root, stun, knockback, blind, or silence. Secrets that apply silence or heavy CC are worth stealing even if raw damage looks average — especially into Team Battle later.
Loadout philosophy for secret hunters
Bring Fly or Lightning Dash for rotation, one mid-range bomb, and a short Heal bridge. Leave Explosion-length vanity chants at home unless you found a perfect hidey-hole.
Video density
The embedded multiplayer upload shows how noisy FFA becomes — secrets favour players who stay calm while sixteen casters scream.
