Super Shout Showdown Spells Hub

Super Shout Showdown is built around flashy anime magic. At full Early Access launch, Rezero Studio targets over 100 unique spells; the free Steam demo already taught players to experiment with fire, ice, darkness, mobility, and healing kits while customising every chant.

This hub is your map into the spell side of the wiki. Use it when you are shopping for a new loadout, recovering from a balance patch, or teaching a friend why shouting “Spicy Super Meatball” can still win a duel.

Start with the catalogue

Open the Spell List when you need plain definitions: what a spell does, when it shines, and how it pairs with casting modes. Demo and patch notes already name spells such as Heal, Healing Tree, Lightning Dash, Explosion, Energy Bomb, Dark Pulse, Destruction Beam, Ice Age, Cosmic Slash, and Fly. Default chant examples like Arrow Rain and Ice Eruption show how generic names feel before you personalise them in the Grimoire.

Rank what matters right now

The Spell Tier List translates patch context into practical tiers. After demo hotfixes, ultimate damage rose for most finishers except Explosion, Heal and Healing Tree were toned down, Lightning Dash stopped interrupting casts (it still immobilises), and Dark Pulse gained a stronger pull while losing raw damage and gaining cooldown. Those changes matter more than vibes — read the tier notes before you lock a lobby loadout.

Build around a plan

The Combos & Builds page turns individual spells into archetypes: shout-burst aggression, zone control, support sustain, and Free-for-All loot chaos. Pair builds with the Incantation Planner so your custom phrases stay short enough to land under fire.

How unlocks work in practice

Progression centres on the Grimoire. Demo updates let you open the Grimoire from the lobby, unlock new spells, and rewrite incantations without bouncing to the main menu — see the dedicated Grimoire Guide and Progression. Free-for-All can also drop spellbook rewards and secret spells (including temporary finds like Excalibur), then let winners steal kits from defeated players — details on Secret Spells.

Casting mode changes everything

A spell is only as good as your delivery. Shouting Mode rewards clear microphones and distinct phrases; longer chants can empower spells when you land them cleanly. Typing & Tapping keep you competitive in quiet rooms or on controllers. Voice recognition works best on GPUs with 6GB+ VRAM; pick Fast / Balanced / High Accuracy models when available. Separate UI language from spell-recognition language when your mouth and menu disagree. Stuck? Mic Fix.

Keep this hub bookmarked. When Rezero Studio ships Early Access polish, spell counts and balance will move — we will refresh the list, tiers, and builds to match.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many spells are in Super Shout Showdown?

The full Early Access pitch targets 100+ spells. The free demo launched with 25+ and continued adding spells such as Destruction Beam and Ice Age before launch.

Where do I change spell names?

Use the Grimoire (including the lobby Grimoire button added in demo updates) to unlock spells and rewrite custom incantations shown to other players. Walkthrough: [Grimoire Guide](/guides/grimoire/).

Are tier lists official?

No. Our [Spell Tier List](/tier-list/) is a fan ranking informed by demo patches and community play, not an official Rezero Studio ranking.

Do stolen FFA spells stay forever?

Free-for-All lets you take spells from defeated players during that match chaos. Treat them as opportunistic tools — plan a core kit in Duels and Team Battles. See [Secret Spells](/spells/secrets/).

What is Excalibur?

A temporary FFA spell tied to solving the Excalibur sword puzzle — covered on [Secret Spells](/spells/secrets/).
