Super Shout Showdown Spell List

This Super Shout Showdown spell list focuses on spells confirmed through Steam patch notes, store copy, and developer reveals. It is not a datamine dump of every unreleased chant — it is a usable field guide for demo veterans and Early Access day-one players.

How to read each entry

Every spell below includes a role tag (damage, control, mobility, sustain, ultimate), a casting tip, and a link out to related strategy pages. Pair this list with the Spell Tier List when you care about strength bands, and with Combos & Builds when you need full kits.

Sustain and recovery

Heal restores you in the thick of a duel. Demo balance reduced healing output, so treat it as a bridge, not an infinite fountain. Slot Heal when you expect prolonged Trading in Duel or when your team lacks peel in Team Battle.

Healing Tree offers area sustain. It was also nerfed alongside Heal. Plant it when teammates can actually stand in the zone — wasted trees lose fights just as fast as wasted ultimates.

Mobility and interruption tools

Lightning Dash closes gaps and immobilises. After hotfix tuning it no longer interrupts enemy casting, which means you cannot bank on it as a hard counter to mid-chant opponents. Use it to pin feet, secure angles, or escape after a shout.

Fly (revealed in launch marketing) lifts you for repositioning and aerial casts. Great for reading Free-for-All chaos, weak if you ignore ground contests.

Direct damage and bombs

Energy Bomb is a heavy projectile package. A demo bug briefly double-dipped damage and was fixed — if a clip looks absurd, check the patch date. Explosion remains a high-fantasy ultimate with a long, risky incantation window; ult damage buffs largely skipped it, so respect the cast time.

Destruction Beam arrived late in the demo cycle as a new pressure tool. Practice the chant length before you bring it into a sweaty lobby.

Ice, darkness, and domains

Ice Age joined the demo roster near the end of major content updates. Use freeze tools to create typing or shouting windows for teammates.

Dark Pulse was rebalanced: higher cooldown, lower damage, stronger gravitational pull toward centre. It is now more of a setup spell than a nuke — combo it with follow-ups from your Builds page.

Cosmic Slash interacts with slow and domain control. Patch notes mentioned slow refresh bugs that let victims escape domains early; keep an eye on slow application consistency after launches.

Classic defaults and custom names

Store and community examples include Arrow Rain and Ice Eruption as generic starter phrases, plus silly customs like “Spicy Super Meatball” or dramatic lines like “God’s Retribution.” Recognition quality depends on clarity, not literary beauty. The Incantations Guide and Incantation Planner help you rewrite without breaking ASR.

Elements and fantasy themes

Official marketing highlights fire burns, ice freezes, and darkness blinds. Build element identity if it helps you remember kits, but prioritise role coverage: at least one engage, one punish, one escape or peel, and one finisher.

Free-for-All exclusives and secrets

Sixteen-player Free-for-All maps can hide secret powerful spells, puzzles, and interactions — including temporary Excalibur from the sword puzzle. Defeated players can drop kits/grimoires for winners to steal. That means the “complete” spell list in FFA is partially emergent — scout the map, then check Secret Spells and the Free-for-All Guide for loot priorities.

Status effects to expect

Patches and roadmap notes mention slow, stun, blind, burn, silence, root, and knockback across the roster. Slot kits for coverage, not only raw damage.

Grimoire workflow

  1. Unlock candidates from rewards or Progression.
  2. Test default chants in a private lobby via the lobby Grimoire.
  3. Mix short reliable phrases with longer empowered lines (Incantations).
  4. Separate UI language from recognition language if needed; try Fast / Balanced / High Accuracy ASR models.
  5. Recheck after each balance pass on Patch Notes and Release & Demo.

Continue with the Spells Hub, refine ranks on the Tier List, then validate hardware on System Requirements if voice latency feels wrong.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is every spell listed here?

No. We document confirmed spells from official notes and reveals. Early Access will expand toward 100+; check this page after major patches.

Why did my Explosion feel weak after updates?

Demo hotfixes increased damage for most ultimates except Explosion, which remains high risk due to long cast windows.

Can I rename spells for other players to see?

Yes. Demo updates added custom spell names displayed to everyone, separate from your private chant practice habits.

Where should beginners start?

Read [Getting Started](/guides/getting-started/), pick a simple damage + mobility + Heal kit, then return here to expand.

What is Excalibur?

A temporary FFA secret spell from the Excalibur puzzle — see [Secret Spells](/spells/secrets/).
